Austin Is The Place To Live- Underground Arts Scene
December 16, 2007 | 1 Comment
Austin has so many draws and anyone that lives here (or has lived here) knows that a huge part of the Austin culture is underground. Some of the best food can be found in a jumpin’ hole-in-the-wall, the coolest little club is on 3rd street, not 6th, the hip poetry slam is at a non-Starbuck’s and our underground arts scene is gaining fame. Does it become over-ground once people know about it? Hmmm… Well, regardless, Travel & Leisure magazine named Austin the 3rd Best Underground Arts Scene in America, so be cool and go check out the annual East Austin tour, the 5th street gallery, 23rd Street Artist’s Market or even one of UT’s numerous museum galleries!
Here’s the Top 10 List (look who we beat!):
1. New York
2. San Francisco
3. AUSTIN
4. Seattle
5. Portland
6. New Orleans
7. Chicago
8. Minneapolis/St. Paul
9. Philadelphia
10. Santa Fe
Annalee Newitz Wants a Wii and so Shall You
December 14, 2007 | Leave a Comment
How can you not love an article that uses the words “hippie,” “crap,” “juggernaut,” and “gizmo?” We’ve long been a fan of Annalee and demand that you read her article about her wishes for the holidays and go buy her a Wii when you pick up your own.
Best part of the article:
“Do you hear that, hippies? I want to strap electronics to my body and trance out to violent imagery while I wave my arms around, killing imaginary things. That’s what I want to do for the holidays.”
Austin Real Estate Investment Seminar
December 13, 2007 | Leave a Comment
For many years, Single Pointe has rubbed the successful Austin real estate market in our friends’ noses on the coasts and after many many non-Texan investors have found great success in investing here through us, we’ve finally brought in the big guns to teach Austinites how to wisely invest in real estate. In the current climate of an unsure stock market, more and more people are switching to the real estate investment market.
This weekend, we’ve brought on board one of the nation’s premiere investment brokers with nearly 40 years of experience to help get you started. Come pick the panel’s brains at this informal Saturday brunch in Cedar Park. There are under 10 seats remaining, so RSVP today by calling 512.797.8830 or emailing homes@singlepointerealty.com.

Austin Is The Place To Live- Weather
December 5, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Austin Real Estate isn’t the only awesome thing about our city- so is the weather! One of the most endearing thing about our city is the climate. It gets hot in the summers but only enough to inspire lake living, not enough to melt your skin off. It gets cool in the winter but only enough to inspire use of your fireplace, not enough to get hypothermia. I have to tell those of you who aren’t living here yet that I’m wearing shorts today. Yes SHORTS- it’s in the 70s, sunny and perfectly breezy. It’s still fall here. So, if you aren’t here yet, get to packing!
According to Travel & Leisure magazine, here are the cities with the Top 10 Best Weather:
1. San Diego
2. Honolulu
3. Santa Fe
4. Miami
5. Charleston
6. Los Angeles
7. Denver
8. Orlando
9. Phoenix
10. Austin
