Lake Austin view near Zilker Park in Austin Austin is in the Top 5 cities that are environmentally aware, according to travel magazine Travel & Leisure’s “America’s Favorite Cities 2007? survey. How did Austin achieve this title? Laws regarding mandated green spaces, tax breaks for green building, pristine park preservation, water conservation practices city wide and more. Where does Austin rank as environmentally aware?

2. Seattle, WA
3. San Francisco, CA
4. Austin, TX
5. Denver, CO
