Austin Is The Place To Live- Underground Arts Scene

south congress art galleryAustin has so many draws and anyone that lives here (or has lived here) knows that a huge part of the Austin culture is underground.  Some of the best food can be found in a jumpin’ hole-in-the-wall, the coolest little club is on 3rd street, not 6th, the hip poetry slam is at a non-Starbuck’s and our underground arts scene is gaining fame.  Does it become over-ground once people know about it?  Hmmm…  Well, regardless, Travel & Leisure magazine named Austin the 3rd Best Underground Arts Scene in America, so be cool and go check out the annual East Austin tour, the 5th street gallery, 23rd Street Artist’s Market or even one of UT’s numerous museum galleries!
