Austin Real Estate Blog & Forum

What is an Austin Real Estate Blog?
We’ve been blogging at Single Pointe since March and only recently realized that we never really gave you much instruction as to what a blog is, or how to interact with one. It’s really really simple. When we learn of something new in and around the City of Austin, Cedar Park, Hutto, Manor, Pflugerville, Leander, Round Rock, Downtown, Southwest, or anywhere else, we’ll simply write a short ‘blog’ about it. We give you the gist of the information, our thoughts and opinions, in a short, easy to read blog. It is up to you to engage the conversation. Think of Single Pointe as an interactive website. We start the conversation, you finish it with a comment of your own- and we can respond to you almost immediately!
What is an Austin Forum and is it a Blog?
Simply put? No. The forum is the place for you to ask general questions- it is a living & breathing Frequently Asked Questions section of the Single Pointe website. You ask and anyone can answer, including us. You can talk about Austin Relocation, Rental Homes in Austin, Buying Homes in Austin, or even talk about your Austin Home Search. It’s a conversation with Austin about Austin and you’re invited!
How do we use it to market to you?
We don’t. We invite you through the Austin Forum and the Austin Blog to engage us, no pressure, not ever. There are many ways our clients contact us through our site where we send you only the information you request, but the Austin Forum & Blog are off limits.
Single Pointe Closes for Ben Aaron Anglin’s Funeral
September 28, 2007 | 1 Comment
Single Pointe lost one of our own in a tragic car accident this past Sunday, and will close Friday, September 28th and Saturday, September 29th for funeral proceedings. Ben Aaron Anglin is the brother of Single Pointe’s Asset Director, Lani Anglin and is the brother in law to Brokerage Operations Chief, Benn Rosales. Broker Michael Rosales is also family to Aaron and will be with the family for both days.
Aaron is a kind, gentle, hilarious person that closely touched the entire staff at Single Pointe. Our Staff as well as Management will be in attendance of the funeral and thank you for all of the generous phone calls. In lieu of flowers, we ask everyone to donate ANY money possible to the Aaron Anglin fund which goes directly to his wife Aleisha Anglin (age 25) and their two daughters, Eleanor (1 year old today) and Mackenzie (7 weeks old)- being a single mother will be tough and any help you can give will be forever remembered. Click the green ribbon to get started. God bless and thank you for allowing us this time off with family, friends & clients to grieve.
Please contact your agent directly if you should have any questions regarding office closing. We thank you very much for your understanding.
We’re Shaking Things Up In Austin! Here’s The Buzz- Buy Sell Search
July 15, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Sweet New Features Added
We’ve launched A Sweet New Feature this weekend that will give buyers a more effective way of Map Searching Austin Homes, and Sellers equal excitement that buyers will find their homes all over Austin. You can search by map, or simply search standard listings and revert back easily to see exactly where a specific home is on the map. Buyers can also easily update the map- streamlining their home searching process.
We continue to improve features at Single Pointe as well as your experience while browsing. Here are a few of the features:
We’ve removed all images that slow down load times on all pages. Honestly, they do nothing to improve the consumer’s ability to search homes, so why have them? Instead we’re using richer colors, simple text, and smarter page layouts.
We developed our “buy sell search” motto which means to you- we’re breaking down the site in a way that takes the user directly where they want to go. Simply click one of the three buttons to do exactly what you came here to do, less all the fluff you’ll get from average search sites.
We’ve expanded the ability to save your Austin home search. It is a much simpler way of getting and saving only the content you want as well as getting updates on new listings on only the homes you specify- this is a feature that seems well loved so far and we’re excited!
As for our Layout- you’re experiencing it for yourself right now! So check out the links below; tour around!
Don’t Panic! Same Great Folks, but a Totally New look!

Yes, it’s true, you’re seeing even further changes at Single Pointe in anticipation of a fantastic new feature we’re about to release in the next week or so. We’re in beta now working out the kinks, but we’re hoping for an early soft rollout- crossing fingers! You just never know with technology; it can be really fussy, but it’s worth the effort as you’ll soon see.
The new logo and branding that is happening is something we are really really happy about. We aren’t new to Austin by any means, but what we do for you is- we’re different, and we intend on keeping it that way! We feel that it fits the personality the Brokerage has inside and out. We really are simple folks who really love what we do for you, and in such a tough market where there are over 6,000 Realtors, we feel it is so important to just be ourselves. Fussing over who has the stuffiest website does nothing for you (the buyer or seller) in the long run, so why not just put on the hat we’re the most comfortable wearing?!
Keep coming back over the coming days and maybe you’ll be one of the first to see what we have going on- I have no intention of letting the cat out of the bag just yet! Stay tuned!
By the way, we would love your feedback! If you have a comment on anything, please submit it! We have a strict no spam policy and promise you will not be added to any type of mailout- just an email receipt.
Spam Sucks! Yep, I said it!

I really hate opening my email every day only to have to dig through 40 emails to find one actual human being. I also hate that phone call during dinner asking me if I am interested in taking a free cruise… and even worse, I loathe being chased around a store when all I wanted to do was look around! If I see what I want, I promise you, I’ll buy it! grrrr! But wait Mr. salesperson! I didn’t say ignore me for the rest of the day!
We base our company philosophy on the above statement- our approach to sales is different than most brokerages. Our Policy is to simply make ourselves available in every way possible and let the folks who want to buy or sell come to us… It’s simple.
The problem is, I think some folks may at times feel ignored by us, maybe you slipped in a phone number on a search thinking someone would call you- you may have grown a beard waiting because our policy is simple… don’t harass anyone! So, if this is you, drop us an email and say, “hey, call me!” The cool thing about doing it that way is when we do call- we’re happy to answer your question without the heavy pressure. That’s how I want to be treated, and that’s exactly how you’ll be treated!
So- if you’re worried about spam coming from SPR, don’t. If you get something you feel is spam from us… send it back to us! I’ll add it to the pile in OUR inbox and give everyone in the office a great big three stooges poke in the eye!
So enjoy yourself on SPR, shop till you drop, ask questions, comment on the blog, whatever… but never worry about us spamming you!
There is a downside to this grassroots style of marketing- it leaves it up to you to spread the word about us- and we hope that you’ll appreciate our approach, services, and products so much you’ll recommend us to someone you know! Tell them to tell us YOU sent them! We’ll treat’em like Royalty!

In an industry that continues to do less for you, we’re doing more- as you can see by looking around the site; SPR Online has given its clients and customers an even fresher, cleaner, and faster site to peruse with more updated content and even more state of the art features to boot!
We’ve listened to our customers and added some handy tools to help them along the way. For example, by loading the Featured Listings page and registering as a customer, buyers can now build a portfolio! They can pick and choose the homes that most interest them and this portfolio can be accessed by their SPR agent later when they sit down to visit or by phone! This is helpful to the agent because your they can begin to learn more about your taste, your likes and dislikes and offer even more options. You can even email yourself, friends and relatives an email brochure of your favorite homes! Even better, shoppers can do all of this with no pressure and on their own time! Simply log back in and your information is still there for you! You can also easily check status of a home without even picking up the phone! There are tons of unique and fun tools for our buyers here at SPR Online and we want to do even more!
