TIMES: Sun, June 24 4:30 p.m.

COST: $2,500 or $3,000 for a golf team, Sponsoships start at $250, Banquet tables $500 (10 people), Individual banquet tickets $50

DESCRIPTION: Famous sports legends of NFL football will gather in Austin to dine and golf during the Fifth Annual NFL Alumni Golf Classic, presented by KB Home. All proceeds will benefit the Center for Child Protection. The 2006 event raised more than $82K for the Center.

This year’s pre-game Caring for Kids Banquet sponsored by Lexus of Austin will offer attendees plenty of time to rub shoulders with their NFL heroes. During the banquet, a “draft” will be held where each four-person golf team will select its NFL captain for the following day’s tournament.

NFL Alumni members who participated last year included Raul Allegre, Kerry Cash, Peter Gardere, Walt Garrison, Britt Hager, Roosevelt Leaks, Don Maynard, Glyn Milburn, Dan Neil, Tommy Nobis, Jerry Sisemore, Winfred Tubbs and many others.

The NFL Alumni Golf Classic raises funds to support the mission of the Center for Child Protection and sustain the Austin chapter of the NFL Alumni. KB Home, the event’s title sponsor, believes in giving back to the communities in which they build and is active philanthropically in those communities. The NFL Alumni’s shared mission is ‘Caring for Kids,’ and the Center proudly partners with these two outstanding organizations to raise the awareness and the resources to fight child abuse and neglect in Travis County.
