Salvador Dali & The Surrealists On Show at the Russell Collection

June 18, 2007

I remember this gigantic book about Dali’s paintings and sketches floating around our home as I grew up.  My father (who happens to be my favorite artist- seriously) instilled a sense of love for art in my heart (yes! I rhymed!), especially art that isn’t seen as beautiful in the mainstream.  Once upon a time, Dali was in that group.  This week, my father and I will be visiting the Russell Collection on West 6th Street to see some of these works in person and I can’t wait!

This exhibit is perfect for lovers of art, or those newly infatuated.  Dali is an amazing artist (and ooh- Kandinsky is on show also!); this exhibit is a MUST!  Take your friends or out of town visitors and impress them with how much you know about art (and you can brush up on your Dali trivia by visiting http://www.russell-collection.com before you take your buddies).

So, thank you Dad for teaching me about the beauty of Dali- see you at Russell for lunch this week?
